Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jan 17, 2007 My bottle said "Hefeweizen Dark" on it. Pours a nice brown with ruby highlights and a solid off-white head. The aroma was wheat, banana and some citrus fruits. The flavor had a nice wheaty start that transitioned into citrus with a mild hoppy finish. I didn’t pull that much in the way of the porter stylings from this beer, just tasted like a hefe-weizen to me. IdsteinSteve (1), APO AE, USA does not count Jan 16, 2007 Pours nice and has a decent head that stays. Has the appearance of a dark beer but comes across much lighter. Numerous subtle taste with chocalate and carmel standing out, overall a very good beer. Finshes smooth and leaves you wanting another....a definite re-try! Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 15, 2007 Dark brown. Enormous rocky head. notmuch aroma. some roastiness that reminds me of a porter. don’t detect much wheat flavors though; nevertheless, this one was enjoyable. i liked it more than the pikantus. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Dec 27, 2006 Bottle labeled as hefewiezen dark -pours dark brown with a nice creamy tan head that stays pretty well and laces some on the Weizen. Aromas of clove, bannana, caramel, molasses, and even a little bubblegum. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, cloves, bannana, molasses. Leans more towards the fruity side but quite pleasant. Good medium body with a fair amount of carbonation which gives it a soft mouthfeel and a pretty clean feeling palate. Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Dec 24, 2006 After tasting some powerful double IPAs yesterday, thanks to Juancho, this one seems pretty flat. Nice caramel appearance with a fast disappearing head. After that, no much to tell.... johninmelb (688), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Dec 22, 2006 Smell is sweet and heady with some soy and some cloves. Pours a deep, molasessey(sp?) brown with a firm head but virtually no lace. Flavour is nicely sweet with some of that west-european caramel malt coming through, but the finish becomes a little astrigent, cloying and soupy with a coat on the tongue. Definitely worth a revisit. ARMed (485), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 20, 2006 Poured with a very nice creamy 1 in. head which quickly dissapated into a 1/8in. head. The aroma was a bubble gum candy aroma. The bubbles were relatibvely large but they were prominent and fluffy enough to really enojoy. The taste was a very pleasing sweet malty caramel like beer with a smooth aftertaste. there was no dominating extract that impinged on the flavor, rather it was quite smooth and drinkable. This beer may lack a little substance and depth but it makes up for that in taste. The character is moderate to small, but the appreciation for such a brew is large. OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Dec 17, 2006 Updated: Aug 21, 2007Bottle. Beige fingerthick head over a clear dark brown body. Mild aromas of dark malt and caramel with notes of dried dark fruits. Weak flavors; moderately sweet with caramel, wheat and a little roastiness. Also some slight fruity/acidic notes. Surprisingly thin and watery palate. A bit disappointing...
