Taste is quite malty, with some wheat, chocolate and plum noticeable. High carbonation. A sweet, slightly bitter finish with citrus. Fairly tasty. HarryFlashman (469), Chatham, Kent, England

Looks great with its sehr dunkel colour, but is a big let down. Very bland in taste. I much prefer the Hefeweizen version. This one really is nicht besonder gut, I’m afraid! Slacks (483), Bolton, Ontario, Canada

Tremendous aroma rich with anise, coriander, pomegranate, roasted malts, and burnt sugar. Poured deep black with red edges, decent sized head. The flavour, unfortunately, disappoints by being heavily muted with a light mouthfeel. You can dig and find some black cherry, roasted malt, and black licorice but it’s way too far in the background. Pours a nice brown with ruby highlights and a solid off-white head. The aroma was wheat, banana and some citrus fruits. The flavor had a nice wheaty start that transitioned into citrus with a mild hoppy finish. I didn’t pull that much in the way of the porter stylings from this beer, just tasted like a hefe-weizen to me. Has the appearance of a dark beer but comes across much lighter. Numerous subtle taste with chocalate and carmel standing out, overall a very good beer. Finshes smooth and leaves you wanting another....a definite re-try! Tejas (695), Dallas, Texas, USA

Enormous rocky head. notmuch aroma. some roastiness that reminds me of a porter. don’t detect much wheat flavors though; nevertheless, this one was enjoyable. i liked it more than the pikantus. Aromas of clove, bannana, caramel, molasses, and even a little bubblegum. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, cloves, bannana, molasses. Leans more towards the fruity side but quite pleasant. Good medium body with a fair amount of carbonation which gives it a soft mouthfeel and a pretty clean feeling palate. Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador
