Aug 1, 2009 500mL Bottle @ Metro. 5.6%. Pour is a dark brown with a fairly frothy beige head (aggressive pour?) with little retention. Aroma is very malty, with wheat and hoppy aromas faintly present. Taste is smooth, malty, and very thick. Really pleasant finish, I can’t wait to order it again.

Jul 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a one finger tan head. The nose is metallic, spice, light chocolate and yeast. The taste is roasted malt, light fruit and spicy yeast. Medium bodied. Decent.

Jul 20, 2009 Dark red-brown pour with a very frothy light tan head. Aroma of wheat. A little sweet, nice wheat flavor. Lacing on the glass. A little roasted flavor in the background.

Jul 14, 2009 50cl bottle. Dark. Appearance of cola. Medium brown color, thin light tan head. nice cascading bubbles rising to the surface. Aroma of caramelized malt extract. Nice toast with some banana esters. The flavor of the beer seems to have all of the spice (clove) up front. Then the malt character in the finish. Dark toasted malt flavor of caramelized malt extract. Texture is lacking, feels a bit too carbonated. Finishes with a nice roasted malt character as the beer warms. Not a bad beer, I’m guessing it may have been an older bottle.

Jul 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a large, frothy, light brown head. Clear, dark brown body with some ruby and yeast clouds. Average malt aroma of bread, caramel and faint chocolate. Doughy yeast presence. Banana, clove, vanilla and nutmeg round out the esters and phenols. Lovely to look at and smell. Taste is disappointingly bland. Murky, undefined malts and some yeast spiciness. Light-medium bodied with a slightly creamy texture and average carbonation. Pretty boring, but not bad.

Jul 5, 2009 Soapy aroma, wheat beer with medium bitterness, chocolate & caramel malt flavors give it a bit more bite. Crisp Dunkel, that makes a great lawnmower beer.
