Pours a large, frothy, light brown head. Clear, dark brown body with some ruby and yeast clouds. Average malt aroma of bread, caramel and faint chocolate. Doughy yeast presence. Banana, clove, vanilla and nutmeg round out the esters and phenols. Lovely to look at and smell. Taste is disappointingly bland. Murky, undefined malts and some yeast spiciness. Light-medium bodied with a slightly creamy texture and average carbonation. Pretty boring, but not bad. Palate: light-medium body, texture amid watery and oily, lively carbonation and metallic finish. No traces of wheat in the mouth, tasting much more like a Schwarzbier, with less pronounced sweetness.
