Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Dark brown with a large off-white head. Yeasty and leathery malt aroma. A bit of sweet, dark chocolate in the taste; also a curious but not unpleasant seaside saltiness. A medium bitter close. Quite liked this.

Nice looking beer - dark and hazy brown. Large cream/brown head. Light fruit and nut flavor. A little too fizzy, light on flavor too; watery. Drinkable but too little flavor, would not buy again.

Fine brown color. Noble aspect in their small bubbles of bottle fermented beer. Cereal aroma, a bit sweet. Strange flavor, strong carbonatation, a bit salty and sweet. Watery texture, good body. It raises pleasing a caramel aroma.

Bottled. Hazy, brown beer with a huge, diminishing white head. Sweet caramel, fruitiness and some coffee-notes on the nose. Weak flavor with some caramel. Medium body with some fizzyness. As most Erdinger beers, quite boring. (060413)

This stuff has to be poured into the right glass to get the right head and taste. It’s a lot of work for not much result. Aroma is all malt, cola like. Smooth thoughand although only 5.6%, you get a alcohol bite.

0.5L Bottle Served in proper Erdinger Glassware - Large creamy off-white head atop a dark chocolatey brown body. Not much aroma, but some maltiness and possibly a little coffee. Medium body with some coffee, caramel, and grain tones with a slight initial sweetness that slowly turns a little bitter/dry for the finish. No long-lasting aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.

Bottled 0,50L. Much bulky and creamy head, optimal adhesion and duration. Much dark brown color, nearly black one. Optimal fizz and liveliness. Not much decided scent... notes of torrefy malt, singes cereals and liquorice. Slightly pungent and a lot mellow taste. Notes of smoke, fumigation and burned wood; much determined and overbearing bitter; elevated alcoholic tone. Bitter and of medium persistence final.

Meget mørk weizenbeer. Er for mørk af en dunkelweizen til min smag. Jeg forventede en sød og rund øl, men den var for kraftig
