Dark mahogany with an amazingly steady head. Banana nose. Flavour is rich and when it warms up I find sweet malt, banana and toffee. Dark malt is apparent. Medium-fullbodied. ratman197 (3250), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of dark fruit, brown sugar, bananas and a hint of clove. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of sweet malt, brown sugar and a hint of spice with a crisp clean finish. blankboy (3239), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 12, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a huge lasting creamy off-white head. Good lacing. Mild aroma of roasted malt, wheat and spices. The flavour follows the aroma but is much too mild. Light aroma, light flavour and light body -- a dark beer for summer. I’ve yet to have a Dunkel that I loved and this won’t change my mind but in the end it’s a decent beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Bottle best before 03/2005 which probably explains the carbonation but otherwise the beer seemed unaffected by the extra age. Pours dark brown with a small fizzy tan head that quickly leaves just bubbles on top. Roasted nutty caramel malt (grain) wheaty aroma. Fizzy and carbonated dark wheat malt that is slightly bitter near the end and a touch metallic. Medium bodied and fizzy. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 13, 2006 This is made to offend no-one, so everything is smooth. High head and sark color leads you to expect more than it delivers.
Still, far better than most lagers it competes woth. A nice little burned finish. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

It’s a lot of work for not much result. Aroma is all malt, cola like. Smooth thoughand although only 5.6%, you get a alcohol bite. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Re-Rate:Poured a tan large sized head that was fizzy, minima lacing, carbonated, opaque, and a dark brown hue. Sweet, malty and caramel nose and mimicked in the flavor. Smooth, thin mouthfee. Light body.
