Sweet roasted malt aroma with earthy yeast. Attractive bitter malt flavor with diet cola. Rather weak, but the lively carbonation contributes to a spicy taste and mouthfeel.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2003 Deep dark beauty with a giant head. Anise and whisky notes. No banana aroma that I'm used to with wheat beers, but the spices and breadiness were there along with a bit of hops. Drink one of these and then drink one on steroids (Ramstein Winter Wheat). marcus (1864), Sacramento, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2008 This dark brown beer poured with a large beige head that subsided in a couple minutes. The wheat base is barely discernible under the roasted malt flavor, which is tasty but a bit thin. There is a carbonated finish. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Brown. Aroma isn’t very typical for a dark wheat. It avoids any yeasty, banana/clove aspects but its dark malt aromas are profound (chocolate) along with hints of red apples. Taste is full of sugar covered raisins, milk chocolate and grapes. Quite honestly, this doesn’t seem like a wheat beer to me at all but much more a sweetened dunkel or something else that tastes bizarre. Pretty terrible for the style. kappldav123 (1845), Markkleeberg, Germany

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2007 A middle of the road dunkel. Pour was a dark brown with a one finger off white head. Aroma was roasted malt and almost chocolate. In a blind smell taste I would have guessed porter. Taste was nice and carbonated with roasted malts, coffee and banana all coming in and out. Not as complex as some of the other German dunkels but good.
