Jan 31, 2006 I found this one profoundly blah. I’m not sure what the problem was because in my glass it looked incredible. I could barely notice any sort of armoa, but what I did whiff was malt and some chocolate. Taste was flat in my mouth, with very little action. I felt this one was a "purgatory" brew meaning it fell somewhere between a dark and a wheat but had neither of the sharp characteristics that you’d expect from those types. I was really unimpressed with this, and probably will not try again. Too bad, because this one looked like a great one. Guess we can all get fooled now and then.

Nov 29, 2007 .5 liter bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small fizzy white head. The body is quite thin and smooth. The taste is quite like a hefe-weizen, but not citrusy or sweet. A strong wheat flavor with some roasted malt and cocco. Really drinkable and nice.

Nov 3, 2005 Dark brown pour. Heady beige foam atop. Spices, peat, and roasted malts in the nose. Flavours include sweet candy malts, a subtle spiceyness, with mild earthy peaty flavours in the finish. Medium light bodied, with a somewhat watery finish. No trace of the ABV. Pretty good Dunkel.

Mar 20, 2007 (Bottle) Pours pretty black with red hints. Malty, wheaty light roasted and light fruity aroma with hints notes of bananas and oranges. Subtle spiciness with hints of cloves. Just a touch of grass. Light flavour with notes of bananas. Some sweet grass. Maybe some chocolate notes. Well carbonated, light to medium sweet. Tiny dryish.

Jun 8, 2008 50cl bottle from Total Wine Tampa. Pours dark, cloudy brown with thick tan frothy head. Smells of malt, ripe fruit, spice, and slighty sour and sweet aromas. Flavor is malt, hints of oak, faint sweetness, bread and yeast.

Feb 13, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep brown body with nice head. Aroma is malt, chocolate. Taste is sweet malt, dried fruit, chocolate, light yeast. Smooth but the flavor was almost too light for me.

Jul 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a one finger tan head. The nose is metallic, spice, light chocolate and yeast. The taste is roasted malt, light fruit and spicy yeast. Medium bodied. Decent.
