I was damn wrong, this reminded me most of a watered down porter with some really slight hints of bananas/cloves. Oh, well, I guess this isn’t the best dunkelweizen there is. Taste of malt and caramel with a nice chocolate aftertaste. No resemblance of any hefe characteristics. Was expecting a lot more from the color. JensenTaster (1588), Denmark

Has tones of rotten apple(in the good sense)caramel, dried fruits and some alcohol. And thats about it, the brew has just about no taste and a very weak finish, some caramel there....no, sorry, no taste there. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Updated: Aug 15, 2005Dark brown with reddish hues and thick tan head that quickly recedes. Spicy aroma of dark bread, with a hint of banana. Taste is rich and chewy, and starts quite malty, and surprisingly bitter for a weizen. Starts moderately bitter, slightly sweet, and moderately acidic. Dense carbonation with a slightly heavy mouthfeel. Well balanced, but a bit too mellow to be an excellent example of the style. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2008 Milky brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma of light chocolate and wheat. Flavor of sweet & dark malts, wheat and nuts. Creamy texture. A bit different from the other dunkleweizens I had tried to this point – no banana or clove qualities. More like a Dunkel crossed with an American wheat beer. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2004 Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown colour with a tan, long lasting head. Aroma is light cloves and bananas, same for the taste, also lightly malty. Very foamy and smooth, nice mouthfeel. It’s not my favourite Dunkelweizen, but it’s pretty good and goes down well.
