Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Nice aroma. Dark colour. Don’t know what to say. It’s not too bad, but drinkable. Malty, fruity.

Aroma is caramel and alcohol. Color is a near solid hazy amber with good carbonation and a tight off white head. Taste is fizzy and roasted. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a foamy feel. Finish is a mildly roasted caramel taste backed by a easy bitterness. In the after taste there is an alcohol feel and a slight sourness. Not bad, but for some reason the alcohol is prevalent yet the content is not that high. I noticed this in the Kristallweizen also, but not in the Pikantus that has ABV. of 7.3%.

Good dark colour with a reasonably creamy head. Aroma is soapy and fleetingly spicy. The taste is as soapy as the nose and eminently forgettable for the absence of most of the characteristics of a good beer of this style. May be a dud bottle but it just escapes a drainpour.

Pours a very dark brown that looks almost like chocolate soy milk due to its cloudy syrupy look. Big fluffy off white head. Tastes like wheat and malt and sugar. Kind of like what a diet dopplebock might taste like. Pretty good and very refreshing.

Bottled 0,50L. Much bulky and creamy head, optimal adhesion and duration. Much dark brown color, nearly black one. Optimal fizz and liveliness. Not much decided scent... notes of torrefy malt, singes cereals and liquorice. Slightly pungent and a lot mellow taste. Notes of smoke, fumigation and burned wood; much determined and overbearing bitter; elevated alcoholic tone. Bitter and of medium persistence final.

Has a cola appearance to it. Really dark maltish Earthen type of nose. Heavy and thick feel like syrup. Really sweet, perhaps too much.

Bottle. Dark brown with beautiful beige/off white head. Aroma of wheat and malt. Flavour is roasted malt and caramel and wheat in the finish.

Soapy aroma, wheat beer with medium bitterness, chocolate & caramel malt flavors give it a bit more bite. Crisp Dunkel, that makes a great lawnmower beer.
