Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottle, Cape Of Good Hope, Oxford. Brown, light tan head. Rustic dark bread aroma, chocolate, gentle banana and clove. Gentle spritzy carbonation that blends pleasantly with chocolate roast. A nice citrus quality. Touch of spice. First few sips seem a bit on the thin side, but it seems to fill in as the glass progresses.

Pours dark brown with big frothy head. Sweet carmel aroma. Nice malty flavor. Roasted, carmel, and sweet with a dry aftertaste. Easy to drink, easy to appreciate. Very Drinkable.

Man their beer pour with huge head. Muddy, murky brown. Caramel, cocoa, plum and vanilla in the aroma. A bit metallic in flavor with just a ghost of the flavors the the aroma displays. Some smoke and leather comes through.A little tart and chalky in the finish. Like the Weiss, better to smell than drink.

Not an incredibly complex brew, however, the dominant flavor here is quite good. Monstrous head that diminishes. Extremely attractive in the glass, although cloudy. Feels very good in the mouth. Definitely repeatable.

What a surprise, I didnt give much thought to my selection whilst buying this, I will certainly buy it again, has a nice head, spicy aroma and a nice bite to the taste, a long aftertaste reminisant of malt and pepper, very nice
