Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

poured a deep brown hue with a thick white head which had great retention/lacing. Aroma was a mix of yeast malts and sweet malts mixed with a slight hop presence. Flavor was mildly sweet with a good mix of doughy malts and some bittering hops. Really smooth yet heavy on the palate.

Well they tell me this is what I’m looking for, so this I rate. Chocolate, banana, clove, walnuts, carmel, and nutmeg. Fluffy mouthfeel and head. extremely smooth but a little thin.

Bottle. Dark and hazy with smal off-white head. Good fruit flavor with a bit of nut and malt on the back end. I was hoping for a bit more, but was still very nice.

Bottle: Pours a dark leather brown and creates a monstrous beige head. Has a small aroma divided in between caramel and malt. I wasn’t expect the flavor to be so bland, but it is and taste just like an ordinary dark American lager. Somewhat bitter while also maintaing a decent carbonation level although i won’t plan on buying this again.

Opaque black pour with a thin white head. Roasted malt aroma. Semi-sweet malt taste with notes of chocolate and bread. Very clean, light finish. Nice.

500ml bottle. Thick, long-lasting head with brown-white alteration. Very dark colour. In the aroma, marshmallows, roses, burned malt. Very special taste - almost like a bock. Light-bodied, the alcohol can be felt through this one. Long, soothing finish.

500 ml bottle, best before 05-2008. Dark ruby brown colour with a mostly lasting fizzy and rocky tan head. Yeasty, chocolate, citrus, and metallic aroma. Yeasty, light chocolate, and bready flavours with a light banana and metallic finish. Medium bodied, smooth. Pretty simple and not all that flavourful.
