Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

This wasn't bad. It poured a much darker brown/black compared to others in this style category. However, I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Still worth a try though.

Bottle, Aikman’s Cellar Bar, St Andrews. Dark brown, huge white head. Aroma is somewhat spicy, malty, chocolatey. Mouthfeel is over-carbonated to the extreme, tastes chocolatey, cocoa malt, wheat, nice slow bitter finish. Would be better if it weren’t for the bottle carbonation.

Huge creamy head. Dark brown. Very faint aroma. Malty but not as much wheat as I expected. Creamy smooth mouthfeel. Just a touch of carbonation. A bit sour and yeasty. Refreshing but very light flavor-wise.
