Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Dark color, strong head. It contains to much roasted malt, the roasted taste dominate the beer, the acidic and banana taste waste away. At the second rate: Now i had a moaderated sample with a moderated design(the label is not a black one, it is a friendly brown one) and i must update my rate... The taste is moderated too, the dunkel character is easier than before. Better, really good one. Complex and fine body, smooth mouthfeel. Fine roasted malt, banana and spicy taste, clove and vanilla, some cinnamon.Yumm, really fine!!!

Roasted aroma, liquorice also. Very dark brown in appearance, almost black with a decent white head. Weak in flavour. Slight roasted texture.

Pours dark and cloudy with a big frothy head. Some cidery aromas mixed in with some cloves. Overly lite body. Same with the flavor. Some cidery notes but not much there. I make a better dunkleweizen than this.

Pours drk brown with practically no head (I mean balls) for a wheat beer. Smells like pale wheat malt. Tastes like balnd medium wheat malt. Very fizzy mouthfeel, Fizzy wheat finish. Too watery and plain for my wel refined taste.

Body is a thin mahogany with so much carbonation it looks cola-like. Carbonation is evident in the monstrous, toasted-whitebread colored head too, which is full, big bubbled and sevral inches tall. Rich aroma of raisins, brown sugar, grapes, and a hint of licorice. Mouthfeel is watery thing, but carries a great amount of flavor. Lots of malt, wheat caramel, a bit of butterscoth, which creamily coats the tongue. Dark flavors, roasted barley malt, stays even but is not complex, does not show coffee or chocolate. Aftertaste is pitfruit and and roastedness. Nice beer, thanks Germany for another solid beer.

Bottle, Dark pour with beige head 1 finger thick. Spicey/citursy aroma. Candy sugar and bitter fruit flavor. It was just okay for me.
