| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Pours a huge head with a thin body at the bottom of the glass. After waiting almost 20 minutes for it to settle out and finish pouring, aromas of citrus, yogurt, berries and spice pop out. Tastes of bananas, nuts, grapes, and some peppery notes. Thick mouthfeel, though the finish isn’t as balanced as I’m used to in a dunkleweizen. A bit too nutty with a weird yogurt-like aftertase but very drinkable and nice. madsberg (5044), Søborg, Denmark

Aroma is yeasty but not as distinct as other beers of the class. Taste is a bit watery, but there are notes of banana and citrus. Not much in the aftertaste. This is the second Erdinger I try. In my opinion Erdinger dosn't make top class weissbeers. JoeMcPhee (5010), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 8, 2006 500 ml bottle. Deep dark brown colour, very hapy with a thick off-white head. Very fine and persistent head. Sweet toasted nut aroma. Nice rich caramel and dark chocolatey notes as well. Evidence of decoctions in the nose. Light bubble gum and apricot. A bit cardboardy flavour though. Yeast is quite muted and subtle, with little evidence of banana or clove. Soft texture. Very wheaty and bready. Okay, but not great. MoritzF (4995), Bochum, Germany
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 8, 2005 (bottle) Dark mahogany colour with a thick but diminishing beige head. The aroma is sweet with caramellish malt and bread wheat. So is the taste, lightly hopped with low bitterness at the finish (of course as it is a dark weizen, not a Hefeweizen). Only a decent brew and a bit disappointing for me yngwie (4974), Kristiansand, Norway
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Bottled. Hazy, brown beer with a huge, diminishing white head. Sweet caramel, fruitiness and some coffee-notes on the nose. Weak flavor with some caramel. Medium body with some fizzyness. As most Erdinger beers, quite boring. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 13, 2004 Kind of a disappointing dunkelweizen. It looks okay, a deep brown with a thin white head. But there’s little aroma, thin grassy and banana smells. The mouthfeel is watery. The taste - watery with some watery grainy-banana-spice flavoring. The finish was wet. whoopie JPDIPSO (4925), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2003 Dark brown color with a taller beige, somewhat rocky head. Light malt, with almond and hazelnut aroma. Flavors of mildly kilned malts and walnuts. Very nutty throughout this one. A very well made beer, very close but not the top of dunkle weisses.
