Upon pouring this brew I noticed a highly carbonated and very lively brew with an excellent light brown head that contained very fine creamy bubbles and lasted a very long time. Its aroma was very pleasant and filled with malt. It has a very malty taste that goes down superbly smooth with a hint of aftertaste. It has notes of mellow caramel and deep dark malt. Some carbonation was noticeable on the tip of my tongue. Its taste was excellent and very much to my liking. Exactly what I expect of a great German beer and very SMOOTH! Almost pitch black colour with a slightly muddy and sparkling look. Initial appearance of head was huge white coloured, which fully lasted. Left some slight lacing on the glass. Aroma was very yeasty, banana, spice, flowers and coriander. Some malt comes into play with light hints of soft bread, caramel, roasted and chocolate notes. Flavour is medium sweet. Medium bodied. Carbonation was lively. Sweet and soft like finish. Better and a slight bit more complex then the Hefeweizen. Braudog (3769), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 25, 2004 Black with a white topping. Roasty, toasty and bitter. Very much like the classic dunkles beers of Germany, not very wheaty at all. Good schtuff. sayravai (3750), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 7, 2005 (Bottled) Very dark reddish brown color with a large, foamy head. Sweetish, ashy bubble-gum aroma with slight roasty malt hints. Initially dryish and burned, roasted-malty flavor with a sweetish-malty finish. Has quite a few dunkel properties, and hints of peppery spiciness. Medium-bodied, sweetish and quite carbonated palate. Pretty low bitterness. Not as pleasant or refreshing as their regular Weissbier. Not a bit more interesting, either. Dedollewaitor (3745), Odense, Denmark

Pretty black and a great head. Other than that this is a really boring weissbier. saxo (3609), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark
