Pours a hazy dark brown and that prominent tan head you see in every weissbier. Aroma is of clove, banana, malt, and slight chocolate. Taste is predominantly chocolate but I also detected some clove and banana as well. A great dunkelweizen. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA

Even with the glass tilted an enormous fluffy head sat atop a dark cola colored beer. After a few minutes the head settled and a nice looking glass of beer sat in front of me. Nice and aromatic sweet yeasty scents are easily detected. This one is definately different from the other hefe’ and dunkel-weizens where as it doesn’t seem to contain a large presence of banana and clove esters. Although unique it is still very appealing. Mouthfeel is better than average, very smooth but somewhat dry. Flavor is good and surprisingly mellow for this style. Seems balanced and the sweetness from the aroma carries through. Not the best I’ve sampled but well worth picking up. obguthr (1063), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Ridiculously thick tan head even with a careful pour. Mahogany color. Watery and metallic chocolate taste. Caramel finish with grass on the edge. Fairly unique and my rating reflects that. I could do without the metallic taste. beervis (223), People’s Republic of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, England

Dark, malty flavours, aroma liquorice, some banana and spices. full bodied, tingly mouthfeel. Finish long and slightly dry. Good stuff. heavy (863), Split, Croatia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2007 0.5 l bottle. Pours dark brown body with huge ocher head. Not too much aroma but nice hints of chocolate malt and some wheat. Flavor is very nice and full, not so sweet and similar to the Hefe Weizen but good on the other side. Long finish with wheat felt. Medium carbonation, murky body. Interesting and very good beer. BrotherGrendel (604), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Dark brown hue with amber highlights, small off-white head dissipates, hazy from wheat sediment. Nose is cloves, bananas, vanilla, bubblegum, moderate bready grains, caramel. Taste is slight banana and cloves, vanilla, bread and wheat prominent throughout, low hop flavor and bitterness, light tart, finishes dry. Medium body, very high carbonation, creamy full texture. Great example of the style with a somewhat subdued aroma. gunnar (586), Sandnes, Norway
