Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Ok it was too fizzy when it was poured and at first taste it seemed week. However my ho hum first impression turned into delight as I drank. The subtle flavor won be over and it had a great mix of spices. As it warmed I really got into it. I just wish it was stronger in taste as what is there is great but a bit buried. It looks and smells terrific. Like all weiss or wits it of course is easy to drink.

Oxymoron: Diametrically opposed meanings, rhetorical apposition. e.g Weissbier Dunkel. Akin to an Altbier, strong mollasses and bread head; light spice, dashes of cinnamon, treacle, cardomon, and oil of 20W30 Valvoline in a sweetish Wheaty frame. Tasty dark brew.

I really liked this beer! Very smooth malt aroma, Aroma is a balance between Roasted malts lt alcohol and a slight yeast profile. Good rocky head (beige in clor). Slight lace(expected more) Chocolate in color. Smooth silky palate, creamy with slight chocolate smooth coffee finish. Great mouth feel! Full but not heavy. Just fills the mouth. Definately a great drinking beer when you just want to enjoy a good beer. Cheers

Fantastic appearance and a great taste. Perfect dunkel and probably the best kind of dark wheat beers that you will ever find on the market.

One of the best dunkel weisse beers I’ve ever had. Tried it the first time on tap in Stuutgart, Germany. NIce creamy texture, full head, great dessert beer. Try it with a slice of German chocolate cake.

I love schneider original, and this was just delicious as well. I see what many people mean when they say it appears a bit ’thin’, but it really grew on me as it warmed up. Mmm chocolate was very prominent for me..coffee? and caramel. lovely thick head.
