No banana aroma that I'm used to with wheat beers, but the spices and breadiness were there along with a bit of hops. Drink one of these and then drink one on steroids (Ramstein Winter Wheat). daalamar (403), bardstown, Kentucky, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Dark ruby beer that fails to kick up much of a head, despite my vigorous pour - kind of bock-ish aroma, with strong caramel, chocolate, and raisin - very faint wheat in the background - soft, yet full in the mouth - light wheat tartness up front is squashed quickly by sweet caramel, fig, and chocolate that last through the middle - dries out a little late, and the wheat character becomes apparent again, adding just a tiny bit of tartness - a little metallic on the back end - more like a weizenbock than a dunkelweizen - not quite what I was in the mood for, but pretty tasty. beastdog75 (337), Brick, New Jersey, USA

Has some nice roasted flavors of a dunkel along with the fruity and banana like notes of a lighter hefeweizen. Nice dark brown color. Easy to drink, but still has nice all-around flavor. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2004 The first beer of my 21st birthday, which is my 253rd brew. So now I can get my hands on so much more. As for the important part: Good malty nose here. Better dark color witha good sizable head. Palate is well defined at the get go, and stays good and crisp throughout. Flavor is also mighty pleasing. Somewhat roasted end to the malt and a bit bitter sweet. rgrep (151), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2005 Dark muddy brown with a fizzy off-white head and virtually no lacing. The nose is complex and warming with notes of iron, alcohol, roasted malt, and licorice. The body is a tad thin but is malty and a little sweet. Short, clean finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2005 Banana, cloves, and wheat in the aroma. Dark, cloudy brown with a large white head. Looks like I’m drinking water from the Mississippi. Flavor of gentle wheat and a very nice malt taste. The malt is similar in aroma and flavor to an abt. Somewhat sweet.
