Basically tastes like a smoked Hefe-Weiss, with a pleasant malty aftertaste. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, bananas, and I’m getting some dark fruits. Tastes of chocolate, roast, bananas, and a trace of caramel. Lively body. KAggie97 (2476), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Pours brown with large, foamy tan head. Nose is toasted malt, wheat, molasses. The flavor is rather musty, spicy with almost a peppery note, overlying banana, and chocolate. Rather sweet. Finish is somehow tongue coating. Not bad stuff. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Bottle: Pours a dark leather brown and creates a monstrous beige head. Has a small aroma divided in between caramel and malt. I wasn’t expect the flavor to be so bland, but it is and taste just like an ordinary dark American lager. Somewhat bitter while also maintaing a decent carbonation level although i won’t plan on buying this again. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2006 Thick beige head on a very dark body. Had it with strong, pungent food and it fit perfectly. Otherwise, nothing exceptional apart from the usual caramel, a bit sweet. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA

Rustic dark bread aroma, chocolate, gentle banana and clove. Gentle spritzy carbonation that blends pleasantly with chocolate roast. A nice citrus quality. Touch of spice. First few sips seem a bit on the thin side, but it seems to fill in as the glass progresses. rozsoma (60), Győr, Hungary
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2009 I think i drink it, but it has brown label. (The shop where i bought this also selling the black-label one.)
It is very sensitive to pouring down, so if you don"t pay attention, a huge foam will be in your glass. A beige head that is creamy awhile, then it change to fizzy. It has an intensive aroma with yeast and some citrus and alcohol. Then the alcohol in the flavour is diminishing yet and light bitterness take over. With smooth carbonation it is very drinkable, because the muddy brown body is not so full that would be expected from a german dunkel. Strange, but the "wheatiness" of this beer come forward only 10 minutes after (not years).
