Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottle. Not much aroma, but nice dark colour and long lasting head. Sweet malty taste and good carbonation. Nice pricetag south of the danish border, so i’ll get some more of these.

Hazy dark brown hue, with a rocky tan-colored head, yeasty, chocolatey accent, toasty malt and toffee aromas folow through on a medium-bodied palate with a note of molases, brown sugar, spicy, cinnamon, fruity notes of date, prune, caramel malt, leading towards a sweety malty finish.

A really nice dark wheat. One of the few dark beers I could drink more than a couple. Also one that goes weel with food or by itself.

500ml bottle poured a coffee-brown bodied beer with a large-bubbled, "Guinness-tan" head, that dissolved like the head on a Coke. Sweet roasted malt aroma with earthy yeast. Attractive bitter malt flavor with diet cola. Rather weak, but the lively carbonation contributes to a spicy taste and mouthfeel.

I did enjoy this and found it refreshing and it looked great, but it didnt have too much of an aroma or taste which was disapointing. It has a slightly spicey and smokey flavour but thats about it over the wheat. Good and will have again but could be more.

[bottle] Pours a nice maroon color, with a solid off white head. Aroma is mostly yeast and some malty sweetness. Flavors roasty, caramel malts, and a touch of dark fruits. Finish is wheaty, with some banana and coffee in the end.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color that changed to a really nice dark red color when put up to a light. The aroma had the typical banana and wheat notes but not strong enough. The flavor was slightly sweet and enjoyable. I liked the flavor, just wish it was a little stronger.
