Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

This one lookes really nice: Big, slightly brown head, and very dark brown colour. Othervise, this is not the best dunkel weissbier i’ve had. A bit weak, almost no taste of wheat. Very drinkable, and not a bad beer.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a cocoa head. Caramel and yeasty aroma. Rich caramel malt/toffee flavor with a yeast bite and some wheat flavor.

This was dark brown with a generous tan head; some lacing. Very smooth, but thin - not overly carbonated. Lots of chocolate and caramel sweetness - but in a thin way - similar to a chocolate phosphate gone flat (if ya know what i mean). I enjoyed this.

Wonderful pour and big head. Dark with hints of gold in the light. Smells very good, but the taste was a big let down. Seemed very weak in the flavor area, very thin. Smooth and no aftertaste.

Bottle. Dark brown in color with a creamy tan head. A cinammon and ginger spice aroma. A smooth malty body and flavor.

Wonderful sweet smoked malt flavor and aroma. Very well balanced beginning to end. Leaves your mouth feeling delightfully full.

Pours a murky, deep mahogany with a large, rocky, khaki head. Sparse, dripping lacework. The nose is chocolatey and roasty with notes of maple syrup, sourmash and whole grain bread. Malty, rich, nutty flavor. Medium-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. Short, lightly sweet, roasted finish.
