Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottle. Dark and hazy with smal off-white head. Good fruit flavor with a bit of nut and malt on the back end. I was hoping for a bit more, but was still very nice.

Pours a somewhat cloudy brown color with a lot of head. The aroma is fairly complex, the flavor isn’t. It’s still pretty smooth. Easy to drink, but nothing very interesting here. Worth a try I guess...

I’ve been buying a lot of these lately. Pours a medium brown with a large white head. Malty toffee, banana flavour with small hints of chocolate. I have not had many dunkels. I wish they sold more. Great beer for any season

Bottle; pours a dirty, reddish brown color with a medium to large tan head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, dark fruit and a light hint of vanilla and cocoa. Flavor was a lot dryer than expected; not hugely dry, just surprising. Wheat and dark fruit predominate. Some caramel and cocoa tones. A good amount of carbonation in the palate, almost became a turn off. That being said, it was extremely easy to drink. All around solid beer.

Pours a deep, dark brown with a huge head which collapses to a quarter-inch head with great retention and some lace. Slightly skunky lagerish aroma - light butter, light toastiness, and as it warms, a nice spiciness. Tastes surprisingly pleasant - I don’t normally like this style of beer. Sweet and buttery with a light molasses touch, but with a nice strong & smooth malt backbone. Light metallic taste to the hops, particularly in the finish. A bit undercarbonated, but a good creamy milkshake of a body. I don’t dislike this beer. Would go well with a steak.

Not too strong a taste makes it a bit easier to drink, good head and not as gassy as other wiessbiers.

Pours dark brown with light tan head. Roasted caramel malt aroma. Sweet toasted malt flavor with mild hops and some clove. Medium body with average carbonation. I enjoyed this one more than their hefe-weizen.

Dark brown with off-white thick foamy head that thins quickly. Aroma is malty yeast. Taste is bubbly, light body, banana, malt.
