Not too strong a taste makes it a bit easier to drink, good head and not as gassy as other wiessbiers.

Pours a deep brown colour, with a reasonably thick brown head. Nose is lots of dark fruits. Plenty of raisins, and just a hint of dark chocolate. Flavour is fruity, but not like a fruit beer, just fruity. There is also a lot of spicyness which I would assume to be wheat. Also a hint of banana and maybe some cloves, although, I may just be imagining that part because I think it should be there possibly. Mouthfeel is not too bad, there is some body to it, and the carbonation is not too strong. Reasonably light drinking for a dark beer too. Not bad,

I too wondered about the weiss/dunkel contradiction but that’s probably something I’m not supposed to ask. The color is that of cola, nice and dark. Compared to other Erdinger brews, this is spicy and malty, especially on the front and middle. The end, however, is a little flat. It becomes just another beer, and yes like someone said more like barley than wheat. I liked all of this one except the finish. The slightly sour, ’typical beer’ taste prevailed at the end and lowered the score a bit. Fifteen minutes after finishing my last sip, I still have a sour taste on my tongue. Not a bad brew at all...just not memorable, either.

Pours dark and cloudy with a big frothy head. Some cidery aromas mixed in with some cloves. Overly lite body. Same with the flavor. Some cidery notes but not much there. I make a better dunkleweizen than this.

Not my favorite style, but a good weissbier dunkel. Very balanced, with a good noble hop crispness that goes well with the wheat bite. A little sour during the drink, nice medium body, head disappears quickly. I wish the yeast gave it more character. Decent beer, and a nice departure from my current favorites.

Darker brown to almost black coloured beer with average carbonation and an average off-white head. Roasted and malty sweet aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is sweet roasted, again rather malty. Not bad.

The truth be told, if this was the first Erdinger beer I had ever drank, this beer would get a higher rating. This beer has a nice dark color and hints of coffee and caramel in the smell. The taste is VERY smooth and although the finish is a little weak, it is certainly easy-drinking. A really nice beer. The problem is that this beer tastes like all the other Erdingers and therefore is anything but unique. I don’t know how the Erdinger folks do it, but everyone of their beers tastes the same. It is nice, just boring and unmemoriable.

Pours creamy brown head. Chocolate aromas some banana, dark brown colour. Crisp dry finish, low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Higher carbonation.
