Spicy and fruity nose, citrus, banana, cloves, raisins, bread. Flavours is mostly the same, with a slightly stronger roasted side to it. Body is medium to light, the carb makes it feel a bit thin. Not bad, but nothing I’ll actively seek out again.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 25, 2009 I really didn’t enjoy this beer all that much.
The pour was a light dark color with an off white foam head.
The flavors are subtle and bleak,
so it’s not really worth it. wheresthepath (551), Buckinghamshire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 25, 2009 [500ml bottle at The Retreat, Reading] Dark brown with a large cream head. Moderate fizz. Chocolate at first, followed by liquorice with some spice behind (cloves?). A faint sour bitterness in the finish. It’s OK, but it’s a little watery and the flavours are somewhat muted. zdk (249), New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2009 A lovely dark hefeweizen. I didn’t get many of the banana and clove esters like from momst good hefeweizens. It really tastes like a less sweetened coke. Dry and bubbly. jlf278 (255), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2009 500mL Much more mild than I expected, but didn’t know it was only a 5.6% abv. The aroma is roasted malt but subtle. The palate is middle-of-the-road (not too creamy, not too harsh, not too thick, not too thin). Flavor is a little dirty or tinny but with some sweetness from the malt and a little bubblegum and banana, but pretty mild flavor. Overall, goes down pretty easy, but wanted some more flavor out this dark german wheat beer. It doesn’t really have anything to make it stand out, but it’ll be easy to polish off the second one i bought.
