| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 25, 2009 500. Pours a murky, nearly opaque ebony with a surging, sudsy tan head that falls quickly away to a one finger layer of lumps. Modest stringy lace. Brown bready nose, a bit of wheat sour/wheat husk happening. Almost a cola or root beer note happening there...not quite sweet enough for root beer, but reminiscent nevertheless. Watery medium body with soft carb. Wheat sour bouncing out everywhere you look--that mild sourness, shy of sourdough, that gives you that tang. The brewer claims worty spiciness, but it tastes more like a soda pop, that cola or root beer thing popping again. Mild finish. Not bad, certainly made solidly, but so completely restrained in most ways that it’s pretty forgettable. Niko100 (151), New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 25, 2009 I really didn’t enjoy this beer all that much.
The pour was a light dark color with an off white foam head.
The flavors are subtle and bleak,
so it’s not really worth it. wheresthepath (554), Buckinghamshire, England

Chocolate at first, followed by liquorice with some spice behind (cloves?). A faint sour bitterness in the finish. It’s OK, but it’s a little watery and the flavours are somewhat muted. zdk (252), New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2009 A lovely dark hefeweizen. I didn’t get many of the banana and clove esters like from momst good hefeweizens. It really tastes like a less sweetened coke. Dry and bubbly.
