Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a light amber. The nose is mostly buttery, a little butterscotch, very subtle hint of peat smoke behind it all. The flavor is a little sweet. Again more buttery to me than anything. I’m trying to think of a good smoky scotch while I drink it, but I’m not really getting it. Pretty disappointing. I was looking forward to this one, but it isn’t working for me.

draft @ redlight redlight. Smokey caramelly nose. Pours a golden amber with a thin white head. Peat smoke, tobacco, caramelly malts, and spicy hops. Pretty good i could use a little bit more smoke, but its very enjoyable.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of rauchbier, smoke, bamburg wood, and malts. Poured copper/amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of smoke, bamburg wood, slight fruit, light malts, and a hint of caramel. Medium body. Slightly thin, lightly dry texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet malt and smoke finish.

Sampled at the Slippery Rock Beer Festival. Light malt aroma, sweet with caramel, brown sugar, toasted grain and a hint of peat. Light hops. Medium dark amber clear with thin white head. Medium watery body with heavy carbonation. Starts a bit dry with some peat, caramel, nutty character and light bitterness. Decent peat-smoke taste towards the finish. Light smoky after with a bit of sweetness. There is just a bit of BandAid phenolic in there, too, from the peat.
