A dense and foamy, shiny white head upon a brilliant, amber colored body. Nutty, light caramelly malt aroma, balanced by some nice fruity hops, peaches, melon, apricot and citrus. Dry, lightly spiced, restrained malt body. Lots of bittering hops added, providing a fine fruitiness, and also a resinous, piny, slight acidic, hop bitter taste. Quite a lively mouthfeel and edgy on the palate. Medium to light body. Lingering, earthy bitterness in the finish. KnutAlbert (3216), Oslo, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Hazy amber, candyfloss head. Lots of hoppy goodness, dust, flowers, some fruit. Peaches, but more the skin than the juicy flesh.
Lemon bite in the tail.
Caramel sweetness underneath, but it is not allowed to surface. Kestral (209), Oslo, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Tap at Ruten Fjellstue. Dark golden body, big chunky offwhite head, nice sticky lacing. The aroma is fruity, like apricot and peach. Thick caramel sweetness lies beneath. A slight sourness. Flavour is also fruity, the sourness returns, making the peach taste like the skin of peach. Other tropical fruit notes also found. Nutty caramel reins the hops in, keeping the brew balanced. The carbonation is a bit hard, along with the bitterness it makes the finish a bit too harsh. Otherwise a nice IPA.
