Commercial Description:
Our Bavarian-style hefeweizen is brewed in the summer and is a unique beer which uses a special German yeast that gives it a wonderful flavor and aroma.

draft at the brewpub - Pours a hazy straw color with virtually no head. It has a rich, yeasty, banana aroma. The taste is sweet and wheaty with substantial banana and spice notes. I enjoyed this hefeweizen.

Draft at brewpub. Dirty/murky/muddy yellow colored body with a fine white head. Far too yeast heavy (and don’t tell me that’s how hefeweizen is supposed to be) - low carbonation and soft texture. Creamed bananas and creamed wheat with some light lemon citrus. Bland.

Tap at brewpub. Pours cloudy but with a brownish mustard-yellow tint. Aroma is a perfect hefe: bubblegum, banana, and clove. This is how a hefe should smell. Flavor is soured banana with weak clove. Spreading mouthfeel. For such a good smell, this beer disappoints after that.

Draught sample at the brewery. The beeer was a hazy, light-medium gold color without any head. The aroma was malty with light notes of toasted grain; Hoppy with light notes of herb. floral, moderate note of lemon; Yeasty with a trace of dough; Moderate miscellaneous notes of banana and clove. The flavor was moderately-to-heavily sweet, lightly-to-moderately acidic with an average-sized, husky, trace-sour finish. The body was light-to-medium, the texture was watery and the carbonation was lively.

Head is fully diminishing. Body is hazy light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (bread), with notes of bubble gum and banana. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, soft/lively carbonation.

I am not a fan of wheat beers, but this was probably not a good one to judge the genre. Aroma was pleasing, but taste was sweet and not enough hops to cover the wheat. Not a great aftertaste as well.

Tap. Pours hazy yellow with a thin white head. Sweet wheat aroma. Banana and clove flavor with a dry wheat body. Fizzy and light bodied refreshing palate.
