A dark black nectar this was a great coffee Porter. This was a seasonal that did very well and was awesome to drink. I loved the flavor.
RCWCPACFP (102), New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2004 Best Estes Park beer. Delivered a nice coffee flavor (no surprise here) but the bitter lingering after taste made it worth the trip. Masked some of the flaws other Estes Park brews displayed. Ernest (4250), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2004 Draught at Ed’s Cantina. Head is mostly lasting. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly malty (roasted grain, coffee), lightly hoppy (resin), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Not a whole lot of anything here...in aroma, flavor, or mouthfeel. Ok, but devoid of character. hey_kevin (1263), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 9, 2004 Tap, Ed’s Cantina, Estes Park. Light coffe and chocolate aroma, touch of roast. Thinnish, with heavily (dark roast) coffee flavor. Moderatley sweet finish. A touch of yeasty funkiness in the finish. Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 15, 2004 Wow - the aroma here is a real eye opener. Smells like you just stuck your face into a mound of fresh ground coffee beans! Taste is very robust - strong chcolate malts and very assertive roasty espresso finish. I think I got more of a buzz from the caffeine than from the alcohol! On tap at Ed’s Cantina, Estes Park.
