| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2003 I must've had a different beer than everyone else, because mine was full of sweet roasted malts and a very smooth body. Good amount of hoppy bitterness balances very well. A very nice session porter. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 25, 2005 12 oz bottle purchased at Brennan’s Country Market in Brookfield, WI (Oct 2005). Pours rather thinnish, cola-like, with smallish decaying head that leaves a slight taupe ring, no lacing...bit chocolaty and prune-inflected in the aroma, again a bit like Coke, but with some hints of dark chocolate and coffee as it warms...body quite roasty and dry, initially rather beguiling but quickly becoming quite thin and merely dry and papery towards the finish, not nearly enough malt character and a one-dimensional bitterness. Ughsmash (4095), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Bottled. Poured a deep reddish-brown with a towering cap of creamy beige head and quite a bit of small sediment suspended in there. Nose was airy with faint, burnt dark chocolate malts and soap... not much going on, and not at all enticing. Flavor picked it up a couple notches with more rounded burnt chocolate, some spices, and husky dry hoppage... palate was thin and slick, leaving bitter coffee roast and dried leaves at the finish. Not a good porter. Braudog (3782), Dayton, Ohio, USA
