The beer itself is opaque dark brown with very little head, lots of sweet coffe in the nose, an amazing stout with plenty of chocolate, sweet malts, and bitter coffee. Awesome! kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Draft at the Brewery. One of the two best I had, it had a nice almost black pour with a good tan head and lots of lace. Light coffee character in the aroma, with malt being the remainder. The oatmeal gives this one a smooth sweetness, and makes it very nice stout. TomDecapolis (3202), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a black with some amber highlights and a smaller dark tan bubbly head that left some light lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt, some caramel, light coffee, some grainy roasted malts, whole grain muffin and some cocoa. Flavor of roasted malts, milk chocolate, some lingering coffee flavors and some oatmeal. This was a nice well rounded stout. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2007 The pour is quite flat. Very low carbonation and no head. I wonder if it was leaking CO2. Color is black. Aroma is very well roasted, but smooth. Flavor is smooth and limited to roast with just a touch of sweetness in the finish. Very easy to drink and quite tasty. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Thick and coating, this is definitely one of those one-at-a-time beers, but worth it. JasonBMoore (22), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 29, 2006 The head was non-existant which was a turnoff since this is a stout. The aroma was interesting- I detected heavy malt, roasted grain, molasses, and strong coffee notes. The flavor was mediocre- initially sweet then dry with an acidic finish. I never met Samson but he deserves better than this. KAggie97 (2476), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
