12oz bottle. Poured a dark black, with red edges, and a large sized light brown head. Aromas of oatmeal, smoke, and chocolate. Very nice aroma. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, and oatmeal. Very light bitter coffee finish. Body a tad on the thin side. Some lacing left on the glass.

Pours a rich oily black with a nice coating of tan head. Roasted malts and dark chocolate fill the aroma. Good malty sweetness and balance in the body. Finishes pleasantly roasty. A really nice sweet stout.

Should I not be pairing this beer with elk meat? Is that wrong somehow? Low carbonation, medium to light texture, sweet and somewhat dry cocoa and smoke flavor. Lightly dry finish, a little gritty.

Very nice looking pour. Dark Dark brown color. A shimmering tan head that diminishes quickly. Roast barley aroma. First sip reminds of a sour mash stout I’ve had in the past. Thinner bodied than the pour suggested - tend to having very little complexity. Flavor primarily of roasted malt and sour dough bread. Finishes quite acidic and dry.

Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (burnt grain, dark chocolate), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately bitter, moderately acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent. Watery, thin, bland, poorly balanced, disappointing on so many levels.
