Commercial Description:
Our red is a special bitter, which doesn’t mean that it’s overly bitter, just a well balanced bitterness that is noticeable. This copper-colored ale uses chinook and cascade hops.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, tea leaves, and earthy. Tastes of caramel, lighter earthiness, and toasty. Thinner body.

Dark amber with a light brown non lasting head. Dry, papery hops aroma. sharp hops flavor with a weak malt backbone. Some sourness. Some decent flavors but with no soul.

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is lightly hoppy (resin), lightly malty (toasted light bread, caramel). Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is moderately bitter, lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Another bland and uninspiring offering from EP.

On tap at the brewpub 4/13/06: More brown than red with a decent adhesive head. Nutty at first, but finishes musty and dirty. I didn’t like it.

Amber brown, aroma of caramel and fruity hops. A nicely made hopped-up amber with a medium bitter finish. well done as a drinkable session star!
