| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Sampled at the first annual Medicine Hat Beer Festival. The volunteer (distributor?) said that this brew came about by accident when the brewing chemist (?) noticed that they had accidentally "split the gluten molecule" in a brewing mishap. Yeah, I hate it when that happens. Anyhoo... this looks like the regular Estrella. Aroma of grainy malts and some grassy hops. Notably, there is no apple-juice aroma that I’ve come to expect from all gluten-free beers. Flavour is much the same: clean grains, low grassy hops. For a gluten-free beer, this is about the beeriest I’ve had. If I’m ever stricken with celiac disease, this is the beer I’d buy (along with Scott’s Pale Ale from NZ). gunnfryd (3583), Kristiansand, Norway
