Opaque golden wheat coloured body is topped by a low white head that recedes to a lasting partial cover with some spotty lacing. Flavour has some lemon, some banana and a light bitterness. Crisp carbonation and medium-light body is quite refreshing. Tulip glass. Fridge temperature. Bottle purchased at the BCLS at Hellsgate in Oct-09.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Huge, dense yellowish head over fully hazy apricot-coloured beer. Coriander³ and marzipan, cookies, ad nauseam. Sweet, marzipan and of course coirander, getting some citrus, with sweet-soft gingerbread. But horror, each new sip gives a whiff of chlorine!! Light, slightly velvety texture, wheat slickness. OK, I didn’t sample it accompanying an espuma, but I still refuse to think that this is the thing to convert winedrinkers to gastronomic beeradventures. I’m glad El Bulli has taken this stance, but the result is... dubious. WVHouseofBeer (373), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA

Tart citrus flavor. Finished a bit thin. Not a bad beer, but not worthy of the hefty price tag. hopscotch (5475), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Bottle… Lightly hazed yellow ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Fantastic retention. Yeasty, grainy aroma with a note of warm perspiration. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Lightly sweet, bready, grainy flavor. I’m not picking up any spices or fruit peels. Crisp, refreshing finish. trapez (804), Hilleroed, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Pale yellowish orange, actually too pale considering the style. Slightly hazy. A white fluffy head of small bubbles settles into small lacings.
A rather sweet smell. Malts and wheat reminiscent of white bread. Lemon peel, orange, coriander, grass, fruity bubblegum, some general spices. All in all, a very light smell and I had to struggle to detect the different components. Rather anonymous, but still kind of pleasant.
The taste is not as good as the smell, and rather thin in general. Almost a copy of the smell, but not as complex and weaker. According to the rather cheesy info sheet hanging around the bottle neck on this one, the beer is a blend of lager and wit and in the taste the lager really comes forth with a quite boring and bland character. Sweet malts with prominent wheaty notes. Sweet citric notes and orange, coriander, faint grassy hops. One or two earthy notes. Sweet flavor of bubblegum. The finish is short and slightly mineral-like with notes of spices.
Very light body, feels bland in every aspect. A boring mouthfeel.
As noted, this is supposed to be a blend of lager and wit, but actually it comes out more as a wit diluted with lager. It doesn’t taste bad or anything - actually it’s kind of refreshing and it has some nicely tasting flavors - but it’s just boring. The smell is definitely the highlight of the beer, and not even that is more than ok. It is no way near of living up to the boasting presented in the cheesy note around the bottle neck.

Very mild, unexciting taste. Finishes smooth. joet (1706), Fulton, California, USA

This is not disagreeable and might go well with food in part because of the subtle flaws. How are vegetables with vegetal aromas? Thanks to Mario for the sample. blklab2007 (959), Connecticut, USA
