Commercial Description:
The nose is filled with complex notes of figs, fruitcake, port, licorice, cherry, raisin chocolate, black toffee, coffee and caramel, while it tastes deliciously thick and chewy, with great complexity showing notes of fruits, coffee-roastiness, molasses, licorice, and toffee. This beer is a meal!

There’s not much I can say about this then the commercial description has not already stated. This is a truly delicious example of this style. Definitely has the fruitcake, with a viscous mouthfeel, and a lingering sweetness on the palate, and some roasty coffee notes in the finish.

Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: Chestnut brown with medium dense slightly tanned top.4-
Nose : Solid sweet ripe fruit aroma , berry like with gentle nutty side. Caramel with gentle brown malt accents. Very clean and mature malted set up.
Flavor/Palate :Woah , medium full brew with exquisite falvour bouquet. Dark caramel with raisin , sweet quality malt , soft wrapping smoothness of alcohol shall. Big yet not overly heavy , somehow it finds balance that should not be. Just right dose of alcohol , sweetness from malt and bit of magic. Must have in doppel –bock world!

Espresso-mocha aroma. Dark-brown/black color with thin layer of white head. Multiple layers of flavor: raisin, molasses, chocolate roasted maltiness. Alcohol is well masked by the strong and balanced hop flavors on the side of the tongue. Could have used a bit more carbonation.

Bottle 50cl. Mahagony colour, small head, soft carbonation. No bitterness at all, slight hops in the background. Roasted malt, notes of coffee dominate. Balanced, hides the 7%vol alc very well. Ambrosia!

Draught at Schlosshotel Linderhof, 5 minutes walk from Ludwig’s II castle Linderhof.
Clear amber coloured, small beige head, malty nose. Malty, toffee, dark fruits and chocolate aroma with notes of licorice, roasted coffee and smoke. Quite oily, bitter finish and long-lasting bitter aftertaste. 9% is well hidden.

Excellent example of the style. All malt on the nose and the palate. Faint flavors of dried fruit and chewy sugary-ness as well. Delicious aromas and flavor. The only spot where this one falls short is the appearance on the pour. Seemed a bit thin and weak on the pour. I was pleasantly surprised once I put it to my nose and lips, but if I had to have a critique of this one, it would be on the pour. But - that being said - I would happily order this one whenever I see it available... and doppelbocks are my favorite style of all beers. Delicious.
