Commercial Description:
The nose is filled with complex notes of figs, fruitcake, port, licorice, cherry, raisin chocolate, black toffee, coffee and caramel, while it tastes deliciously thick and chewy, with great complexity showing notes of fruits, coffee-roastiness, molasses, licorice, and toffee. This beer is a meal!

Pour is a deep dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is lots of caramel and dark fruit. Flavor is again dark fruit with lots of caramel and candi sugar. Finish is very sweet. A bit weak for a dopple but this is prety good.

Bottle. 1 Pint .9 FL. OZ. Very dark reddish-brown with creamy off-white head. Malty, prune aroma. Nice medium-full body with creamy texture. Sweet flavor with long, smooth finish. Enjoyable beer.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark brown with a decent size light tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, and slight roast. The flavor is sweet, fruit, caramel, and has a nice heavy alcohol punch. Great body, excellent brew.

Poured from bottle...Smelled of sweet molases...Poured a reddish brown with a tan head that didnt last too long...Taste was sweet, thick, syrupy, fruits, apples, cherries, with a nice slightly bitter finish...I really enjoyed this. Alcohol was very well hidden.

[bottle] Reddish brown in color with a very short white head. Aroma is fruity and alcoholic. Bready, chewy malt flavors, with some serious dark fruit and spiciness. Caramel sweetness and alcohol warmth round things out. Very good, overall.

Pours a dark copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet of dark fruits, chocolate, caramel, and a little alcohol. Flavor is of dark fruits at first then the slight roastiness with chocolate, caramel, and toffee. Finishes with a slight alcohol warming. Not too bad, probably one of my favorite doppelbocks.

Pours a dark mahogany with red edges and a beige head. Lovely sweet aroma of chocolate which also gives you a hint of the chocolates bitterness. Flavour of bitter chocolat with a great vinious feel. The palate is great - it is foamy and carbonated and kind of fills up your mouth with small nuances from the sweetness, over the vinious feel and the bitterness. Great beer. (Bottle)
