| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Taste 2/9 Bottle. Looks: Deep brown body with a one inch foam that disappears to a rim job. Aroma: Rich hay and grain with dark fruit. Taste: A very full flavor of figs, licorice and some darker roast malts. Almost sweet but the sourness, yeast and spice keep it under control. Quite good. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2009 What a perfect doppelbock. This thing is perfectly balanced with the light burnt notes setting off the light malt sweetness to tremendous effect. The effect is a very soft beer, which never makes a mistake in any direction (alcohol, burntness, pruniness, sweetness). It acheives a huge success in staying in the middle of the road. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Reddish brown with a light tan head. Sweet caramel and dark fruit. Light spice. Brown sugar. Slightly fuller body with low carbonation. Sweet full caramel. Prune, dark fruit. Light bit of astringency in the finish. Lingering subtle spice. Not a bad beer, under my radar!
