| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 18, 2006 Draft at Drafting Room, Exton, and bottle, from Super Saver. This rating is of the draft. It poured dark brown/ruby edged, with a 1-finger off-white head. The aroma was heavy malt, chocoff, nuts, molasses, slight rauch, cabernet, and BS (brown sugar). The taste was heavily malty, with a big, rich, brown sugary cacao molasses, nuts, and some hops. Velvety palate. Like corn flakes dipped in dark chocolate, brown sugar, and nuts, then placed over a campfire for 30 seconds and then quickly dipped in red wine. Yummy! tnkw01 (214), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

You take the best elements of all doppelbocks and add a touch of the great abt/quadruples and this is what you get. Wonderful dark color with a slightly sweet flavor that reminds me of Christmas, (Must be the time of the year). Ok, I pray this one stays in our area. I believe I might be drinking it for years to come. This one is WAY underrated. Highly recommended . (Rerated Because I had better beers since) Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

Sweet chocolate malt flavor with a very nice coffee finish - not as astringent as I’ve found in many doppelbocks. An excellent beer for the style but may not be stronger enough for fans of the style. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 1, 2006 An absolute beauty of a doppelbock, and I see where Stoudts must have got their inspiration for their Anniversary Bock. A nice aroma, if a bit toned down, with notes of melanoidins, a little cocoa, and some spicy hop. Flavor is rounded with smooth caramelized malts, and a minor touch of chocolate. Finish is balanced. The real story here is the balance and mouthfeel. For a 9% malt monster, the beer is perfectly balanced, with a medium body at most. Smooth as all get out. It drinks so incredibly easy. One of the top doppels I’ve had. Radek Kliber (3986), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: Chestnut brown with medium dense slightly tanned top.4- Nose : Solid sweet ripe fruit aroma , berry like with gentle nutty side. Caramel with gentle brown malt accents. Very clean and mature malted set up. Flavor/Palate :Woah , medium full brew with exquisite falvour bouquet. Dark caramel with raisin , sweet quality malt , soft wrapping smoothness of alcohol shall. Big yet not overly heavy , somehow it finds balance that should not be. Just right dose of alcohol , sweetness from malt and bit of magic. Must have in doppel –bock world!
