Light banana aroma. Hazy orange. Simple, but very drinkable. Touches of banana, and toffee in spades. Crisp carbonation, refreshing palate. Finish has fresh buddy hops, green and very tasty.

Oct 20, 2008 Shared this one with my friend Gyurke in Wiesbaden. Pours a hazy golden orange. Aromas of bread/bananas/ and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice.

Jul 9, 2008 Bottle: Amber coloured, almost clear, quickly diminishing fluffy off-white head; fruity (dark berries) and wheat-malty nose; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied, quite soft MF; sweetish dark malty and dark-fruity finish. Not bad, reminds me a bit of a belgian Oud Bruin........

Sep 15, 2007 Huge, fluffy yellowish head; copperish colour with coppergreen shine. Very much banana; sourish wheatnose. Some faint, leafy bitterness over some banana, wheat and other fruity esters. Bit earthy, metallic in the finish. Not very assertive. Medium bodied at best. Despite the initial high carbonation it feels a bit flat. Average D.W., nothing more.

May 22, 2007 Smallish head, a bit uggly dirty water look. Not much esters, nice carbonation and surprisingly bitter and dry. A bit on the watery side, but a good one nonetheless. You have to appreciate it after visiting Ettal, Germany. The location is amazing.

Apr 2, 2007 Dark amber with a nice head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and wheat. The flavour is sweetish, slightly spicy with banana notes. I prefer the light sister. 1574

Sep 24, 2006 From a 500 ml. euro brown bottle with a bottling date on the back label.
Poured a clear reddish, ruby hued brown with a foamy head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Aromas of toasted grain and chocolate malts, a bit fruity, some metallic notes, and lightly floral.
Moderate carbonation and a malty crisp, velvety smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Nice malty taste, caramelized malts with a touch of chocolate toffee, toasted grain, a sour bready yeastiness, a light raisin fruitiness, mild soft crispness from the hops and a dryish malty finish.
A tasty dunkel from Ettaler, easy, smooth drinkability, well worth trying if you can find it fresh.
