Thin, watery and vapid, like the thoughts in Paris Hilton’s head. Unremarkable and unmalty, and an embarrassment to the Dunkel style. Quite roasty, but like roasted water colored black.

(bottle) Clear dark brown color with a ruby shine and a foamy off-white medium head. Light-sweet dark malty nose with toasted bread, chocolate and liquorice. Light sweet, toast-malty and slightly crusty taste, medium body, smooth mouthfeel; dry and bitter finish with herbal hops and traces of chocolate and liquorice in the aftertaste. Good.

Bottle (500ml). Poured deep clear mahogany with an average foamy-fizzy tan head. Okay light roasty-nutty aroma, grainy and sort of cola-like malt-sweet. Taste is lightly roasty, nutty and a bit chocolatey, very mild grain and hop flavour; sort of weak, but really pleasant and malty. Watery, lightly astringent mouthfeel, lightly carbonated. More body and this is extremely good.

Big whiff of honeycakes and brown sugar int he aroma. Quite appealing smell. Dark brown to copper with a pinky thin white head. Fore is honey, malt sweet. Very substantial tasting like the aforementioned honeycake though the mouthfeel isn’t thick or at least no thicker than it should be. Some caramel malt notes in there as well. The range is narrow, but the beer is very tasty.

500ml. bottled dated 10/10/05. Clear brown color with red highlights and a medium sized tan head. Sweet toasted malt aroma with some caramel as well. Flavor is much drier than expected, with mild caramel malts, smoked almonds and a bit of bitter hops on the finish.

Pours a deep orange/mahogany. Micro head disspates with no lacing. Date and fig aromas. Up front caramel that quickly turns bitter with sour metallic aftertaste. Palate is lively -- almost burning.

poured a medium to dark brown body and a bone color head. Aroma is manly caramel with some hints of chocolate. Taste was a nice mix of yeast notes and sweet caramel notes.

500ml bottle via trade with porterhouse! - Thanks Kevin! - Pours dark bown with a slight offwhite head that faded fast. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt, and a touch of chocolate. Flavor is similar. A touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Creamy mouthfeel with a nice malty aftertaste. Pretty drinkable brew. Nice..
