Bottle from brawley’s bev in charlotte. Pours a thick, syrupy brown color with no head. Taste is of big wheat and bread flavors. Consistency is a little thick as well. Slightly fruity flavors like plum in there. Gives you that flat soda kind of experience. Sort of musty, dusty smell. Decent aromas and flavors make this a well balanced beer.

500ml bottle. pours deep-brownish with a slight tint of coffee. the head is close to that of a guiness, but lacking the volume of the canadian-irish stout. aroma is filled with a coffee-caramel syrup-like muddy feel, along with cherry flavored dr pepper. i agree with Suttree on the molasses. it also has a dense musty fog on it. the aromas is complex, and adds to the overall character of the beer. dominating malts are all over the palate but don’t overshadow the other flavors here. forest-like honey and mustiness are also in the flavor, while the carbonation hits on the roof of my mouth and front sides of my tongue. it’s a pretty damn good production all together. i like how the raisin/plum fruit swing in mid-palate and smooth out the finish here. analytically, this beer is kick-ass. drinkablity? i could take a few more.

Clear brown, almost cola-esque, in fact. faint aroma, but I seem to get grain, prune, and coffee. Flavor is prune at first, then a molasses and coffee, followed by a woodsy bitterness, finally ending with a aweet, fruity note. Pretty tasty.

In Viersel I preferd the dark beers over the light beers. This one on draft was nice with some sweet and roasted malts.

Bottle: Ruby mahogany, light tan head, nose of sweet plum and fruit, dark bread. The flavor is cloying and nutty, lots of malts and urinal cake notes. The finish has a load of rye. Thick mouthfeel. Sherry in the tail; lingering.

Bottle. Fruity malt nose, roast aromatic hops. Red chestnut, golden lacing head. Good chewy malt base, dried fruit, roast and caramel stays elegantly in the background. Light flowery notes towards the finish. Bit light on the exit. Very enjoyable.

Old sample. Expired on 11-10-05. Not the best condition then. Half liter bottle. Poured out a dark ruby color, with a minimal tan colored head. Aromas are of dried fruit, raisins, prunes, and the like. Flavors are about the same as the aromas. Medium mouthfeel, decent body. Finished sweet & malty.
