DEcent not great. Earthy yeast and roasted malt aroma, dark mahogany color and decent head and lacing. Flavor is malty but not very robust.

Bottle from Bier-Spezialitäten-Laden, Berlin. Clear, reddish brown with a small tan head. Malty caramel aroma with hints of nuts. Well-balanced caramel and nutty bitterness. Not my favourite style, but this beer is convincing.

Bottled 0,50L. Bulky head, much resistant and long-lasting one. Color dark brown, much effervescente, elegant, torbid, with good sediment presence. Toasted taste of wood, ash and malto braced. Overbearing but pleasant bitter.

Sample @ Coles German Tasting 2009. Chestnut brown colored pour. Roasted malts, caramel, toffee in the aroma. Taste is sort of watered down. Notes of caramel, toffee, tea. Kind of a weak dunkel

Glowing copper brown color with a fleeting tan head. Roasty nut, mild cocoa aromas. Spicy brown malt flavors with chocolate and dark caramel. Easy drinking.

Pours a clear chestnut brown color with a thick foamy 2 finger yellowish beige head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Minimal lacing. Spicy aroma with a huge clove presence and a nice malty backbone with hints of caramel, chestnut and toffee. The flavor is quite spicy as well with a nice cove presence as well as some ripe banana notes, smokey caramel malt and a subtle bitterness in the finish. Slightly watered down but still pretty flavorful and easy drinking.

Bottle, Pours a medium reddish brown with very little head, despite a vigorous pour. Aroma was a cause for concern. Sweet caramel notes with a hint of chocolate, but unfortunately, there is an underlying sour funk aroma that kind of reminds me of my neighbors dumpster on a hot August day. Not pleasant. Fortunately, this unpleasantness is not carried through into the taste. Flavor is mostly sweet caramel and mild chocolate. Palate is light and easy drinking.

Bottle. Pours a brune body with a tan head. Sweeter tawny caramel notes with a light dark fruit character. Hint of chocolate with a light body. Decent.
