WABeerChick (25), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 8, 2005 Fantastic example of the style! Spices are subtle and unique but blend well with beer. What a treat! jackamackson (127), USA Aug 6, 2005 my first saison. amber color, small white frothy head. fruity, sort of sour aroma. flavor was somewhat spicy, sour, and light. makes me want to try more in this style. DA (2383), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Feb 1, 2005 Updated: Sep 26, 2006This was a really nice Saison. Pours a beautiful cloudy glowing orange, with a tall white head. Lots of spice in the aroma, orange peel, slight fruit tartness smell to it. Taste was very well balanced, citrus flavors up front, followed by a nice blend of spices, finishing with a medium dry finish. beerguy101 (3473), Newark, California, USA Aug 5, 2005 On tap at Brewpub. Light orange color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, touch of must and leather, kind of sweet. A medium bodied saison. Malts are fruity and sweet, grapes, spices and a touch of funkiness. Light and refreshing. Nice balance. Crisp and clean. Somewhat sweet, but not to bad. Aftertaste is fruity and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. frylock (950), Buffalo, New York, USA Feb 12, 2005 I was a little disappointed when the waitress brought this out in a pint glass, but oh well. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Lightly sweet malts, floral notes and some clove in the aroma. Wheat, some banana and lemon hints. Herbal notes and some light hops with a mild sweetness in the finish. Good stuff.
