11026 (1886), USA Sep 13, 2005 Tap at Rogue PDX. Clear, deep golden in color. No real head formation and minimal lacing left behind. Aroma is lightly estery, some fruits and plenty of residual sugar in the nose. Light bodied, decent carbonation. A bit cloying and syrupy. Sweet, slightly fruity tasting. Fair at best. BeerLimey (1875), California, USA Aug 22, 2005 Clear golden appeaarnce. Spicy, sour fruit aroma. Sweetish fruit palate, some prickley spice and mild alcohol noticeable. Mild lingering sour grape fruitiness. acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2005 Clear light yellow color with a sour nose and high alcohol noted in the aroma and flavor throughout. Some mayonaise and saucy-type flavors, very odd and unpleasent, but mostly washed out after a couple of sips by the stinging and tingling alcohol and bitter saaz-like hops. Crisp finish, a nice bite at the end is what I like, and I really can’t complain about the strength of this beer, it’s very nice. legion242 (1506), Richardson, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2005 Really average. Doesn’t have a lot of the qaulities I would look for in a trippel- very little hoppiness but lots of sweetness. DA (2261), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Mar 20, 2005 Updated: Jan 15, 2007This big ol 10% tripel starts with a nice fruit/caramel sweetness, very estery with a lot of banana and clove throughout, very nice carbonation livens up the spices allowing them to cut through the sweeter body of this brew. A bit of alcohol shows when this brew is cold but is covered up nicely as it warms.
