goldtwins (3733), Nesconset, New York, USA Dec 10, 2007 Tap @ the brewpub. Poured a hazy gold color with a white head. Clove and banana aroma. The flavor had clove to start with a light mild banana. Mild wheaty citrus. The finish was all banana. Semi-sweet finish with a medium body. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 28, 2007 Rather lacy white head tops the fully cloudy, pale gold pour. Quite aromatic, straight-on bananas paired with lactic qualities reminiscent of fresh cream. Again fairly grainy, even the wheat feels so. No hops are noticeable, while the wheat does not refresh as much as expected. Still, its cookie-like sweetish palate is fun enough to accelerate drinking speed. Medium to full bodied, gentle effervescence. One of their best beers I believe. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 8, 2007 Evans [Bavarian Style] Hefeweizen-on tap-pours a thin creamy white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is wheat, musty, banana-yeast, fruity, mild clove. Taste is clove, wheat, musty, banana-yeast, fruity. The clove isn’t overpowering, which is good. OK effervescence.
(Rating #919) yankeefan21 (63), USA Mar 8, 2007 Updated: Apr 7, 2007This is a sweeter Hefe with light banana flavor and refreshing after taste. I’m a fan of German Hefes and give this two enthusiastic thumbs up [recommended for people who like Paulaner or Franziskaner]
