ABUSEDGOAT (1900), California, USA Jan 31, 2006 I think they might have changed this but here goes. More like an English (Strong) Ale. Also they list it at 6%ABV, not 7. Reddish brown body. Aroma is English hops (Fuggles?) with notes of caramel. Flavor is the same, but I couldn’t believe I was tasting alcohol in the finish at 6%. Reminded me of Youngs Winter Warmer. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jan 25, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Appearance identical to the Weizenbock, except for the crystalline lacing that forms and sticks through the sample. Dark, fruity, figgy-pudding with vanilla sauce aroma, just a hint of pipe smoke. Medium-sweet, malty front, with molasses, cherries and alcohol showing through. Syrupy without being cloying. Best of show.
