hughie (2254), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 16, 2008 Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Dark gold with a white head. Sweet hoppy aroma. The taste is pleasantly citric and there is late bitterness. Though this all sounds quite predictable, this is actually a beer of some character.
Magic_dave6 (4010), London, Greater London, England Sep 3, 2008 Cask in the alfred herring. Aroma is very wheaty, belgian wit, orangy, very appealing. Taste is very drinkable, balanced and tasty stuff. Very suprised by how good this was. DruncanVeasey (1735), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Sep 2, 2008 Coventry ’Spoons. Earthy soft lemon and coriander mushiness. Mellow and still, not overpowering. Gentle spice, esteriness and orange. Seriously not that bad. Especially at the end of a fairly heavy evening’s refreshment. Didn’t get anything from the champagne yeast, but I was shitfaced. Quite an authentic effort. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 25, 2008A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St Sporks. Cloudy lemon yellow with a thin McSporks sparkler head. Very lemony and wheaty all round. Slight estery notes, some citric acidity and a tarty lemon wheat finish. Better than I was expecting but I’m still a bit gutted that I have just passed Mr. Harrison the last of my Oakham Helter Skelter to finish off so I can rate this... leaparsons (4000), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 13, 2008 Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Hazy orange with a white thin head. Aromas are wheat and spices wih zesty champagne yeast. Citrus and some caramel. Flavours are sweet wheat with a light citrus sourness tang. Dry on the finish with a good sparkle. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Aug 5, 2008 Cask@The Shakespeares Head. Hazy yellowish golden colour, creamy white head. Nice lace. Aroma is sparkling winelike, fruity and also has some quite strong wheatyness in it. Flavour is spicy, yeasty, wheaty, has some slight wooden notes along with nectar. Quite fullbodied, and varies a bit from the British witbier attempts I’ve stumbled accross.
