evilsoc (169), Wales May 21, 2008 Pale copper. Aroma of root ginger up front with grains and yeast in there as it warmed up. The mouthfeel was thin but I let it off for the floral and spicey hop and ginger marriage. Nice for summer, I’d have it again.
Doppelganger (1198), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England May 25, 2008 Cask, The Chequers, Oxford. Pale hazy straw, thick white head. Clean ginger candy aroma, fresh and simple. Soft malt, gentle ginger flavor. Not a lot going on, but what’s there is really pretty decent. bobinlondon (220), Harrow, Greater London, England May 21, 2008 Hand pulled at JDW Watford. In good condition but very ordinary beer with virtually no hop characture and almost undetectable presence of ginger. Not recommended. SilkTork (3909), Rochester, Kent, England May 17, 2008 JDW, Rochester. Murky pale yellow-brown colour. Ginger comes to the fore, but not in any crisp manner - it’s more like stale old ginger. There’s a dirty, smudgy feel about this and I’m wishing I hadn’t ordered a pint. Ginger is a traditional flavouring for beer, and usually works very well, but it does depend on the base beer being fresh and delicious, which this is not. Finn (1091), Tromsø, Norway May 12, 2008 Cask at Woodins Shades, Liverpool St. 27 Apr 08. Golden colored. A filmy head. Modest fruity aroma. A bit watery flavor but traces of ginger. No bitterness. No distinct aftertaste.
