Quack-Duck (1755), Bodensee, Germany Sep 1, 2008 cask @ Anchor Inn Sidmouth. Copper colour, tiny head. Fruity nose. Fruity flavours with a good malty base and some nice hoppy flavours. Dry finish. Svesse (1700), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 30, 2008 (Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2008) Dark amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dark fruit and roasted nuts. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit and a fairly bittersweet finish. Decent bitter, but lacking something extra. shoestring (165), larkhall, Scotland Aug 26, 2008 It was okay. Wouldn’t go out of my way for it now that I’ve tried it. The strong flavour that I got in my mouth and aftertaste is at odds with the ’mild’ description on the rest of the reviews, but it definitely stuck with me for a while. Not that pleasant. Head disappeared FAST. Skinnyviking (2635), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 16, 2008 Cask. Low and fluffy quickly disappearing off-white head. Clear amber body. Fruity mild malty aroma. Sweet fruity and mild flavor without much hops bitterness. In fact it felt a bit watery with its low carbonation and short aftertaste. Fin (2188), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 30, 2008 The Nightingale, Langford Village, Bicester, Oxon, 29-07-08 Poured mid amber with thin white head. Unfortunately I was served this in a Fosters glass which sort of ruined it for me, sad to say the lack of interest in what to serve this in pretty much summmed up what the beer was like. Dull uninteresting beer, that had some caramel on the nose but if truth be told may have also been getting a little tired, some sweetness and fruits attempt to liven things up but I’ve had this before and its been better so will seek this out again in the near future.
