1989 version, sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Clear red with creamy pink head. Sweet balsamic fresh raspberry aroma. Acidic, but with initial fruit sweetness and really tart finish. Wonderfully balanced and flavourful.

Bottle into tulip. 1989 vintage. Crazy-ass lambic tasting in our hotel room, GABF 2007. Thanks to cquiroga for bringing this one. Dusting of white on top of a glowing ruby orange in the glass. Smell is warm and jammy, with raspberries. On the first sip, I have pictured in my mind raspberries being eaten in slow-mo and sepia tone: it’s not bright and full, mellowed, but very nicely realized. This is balanced by earthy things: twigs, dust, and dirt, all fibrous and dark under the medium and somewhat watery body. Finish lingers a small bit, but there’s not much there. Definitely oxidized a bit on the end, but I don’t mind it much.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm 1989 Vintage. Red color with creamy head. Sweet, juicy, acidic and perfumed aroma with notes of raspberry and rose. Sweetish, juicy and acidic flavor with nice fresh raspberry touch. Very balanced, excellent.

From a 375mL Bottle, 1989 Vintage. Generously shared by cquiroga. Slightly hazy, even color of golden, ruddy caramels with a thin layer of soapy, off-white head. Big, sweet and juicy raspberry nose that’s amazingly bright for the age. A bit jammy and thick, with an interesting anise spice complexity. Malty nose of vanilla and caramel add richness to the incredibly smooth, supple fruit nose. The aroma actually reminds me a lot of KRE. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel. Sweet raspberry flavors up front on the palate, by some caramel and vanilla malt richness. A mild acidity and gentle vinous tartness is present, but restrained compared to the fruit qualities. Some herbal raspberry seeds linger in the finish, along with more of the vanilla, malty sweetness. Would like a bit more acidity, but the raspberry qualities are delicious and amazingly fruity for the age. Thanks for the rare treat, Chris!

Draught (vintage 1989) at Akkurat. Clear deep red - white head. High raspberres, light sweetness, light glue, citrus, light bike-glue, high berries. Very smooth, it is like it was released yesterday !!

Draught@Akkurat (1989 vintage). Murky red colour with small white head. Aroma is toffwee, caramel, some raspberries and wood. Flavour is the same, in an excellent balance. Sour raspberry is coming in nicely in the flavour.
